VW Service at 10,000 Miles
At 10,000 miles, your Volkswagen is ready for a trip to a Volkswagen certified technician for service. Your technician will perform the following on your vehicle according to the VW service plan:
- Reset Service Interval Display (if applicable),
- Replace Service Sticker,
- Rotate front tires to rear,
- Check your headlight cleaning system, wiper blades, and windshield washer system for functionality and fluid levels,
- Check break pads for thickness and brake disc condition (front and rear),
- Change oil and replace your oil filter, and
- Check the rear window cleaning nozzle functionality (If applicable).
Your technician may also perform a visual airbag inspection. This must be done once per year, regardless of mileage.
Model Specific Checks:
If you're driving the 3.0L TDI, your VW service technician will also check your AdBlue® Fluid level and add more if necessary.
VW Service at 20,000 Miles
Most of your maintenance needs at 20,000 miles are the same as those performed at 10,000 miles. Please repeat the list above, with the addition of the following:
- Check battery for functionality and health,
- Inspect brake system and shock absorber for leaks and damage and check brake fluid level,
- Replace dust and pollen filter (if applicable),
- Perform second battery check (if applicable), and
- Check tires for wear, condition, pressure, and tread depth (including spare).
Every two years, regardless of mileage, your VW service technician will also check your tire mobility kit, including the date of your tire filler bottle.
Model Specific Checks:
- In the New Beetle only, change brake fluid every 2 years, regardless of mileage.
- Fir all convertibles, check the roof latch every 2 years, regardless of mileage
- In the 2.0L TDI only, replace the fuel filter.
- In the 3.0 TDI only, drain the water in the fuel filter.
